PROTEIN PANCAKES

I've been at home for reading week and done no reading whatsoever

On instagram I've seen the huge hype about 'protein pancakes' so I thought I would give them ago and attempt to be productive

Verdict: Amazing

Genuinely, I don't really understand how banana and egg mixed together can make pancakes but they do.

Bananas are also full of potassium which is so important for your body...

Unlike normal pancakes they don't leave you feeling sluggish and wanting to roll around the sofa the whole day (obviously sometimes you have to go all out and have proper pancakes!)

But, if you want something that is genuinely nutritious but tastes like it's not then this is the one!

I added blueberries, but you can add whatever you want - They're completely sugar free, wheat free - so you can go all out with the extras aka nutella if you'd like!

Ingredients:
1 Banana
2 Eggs (sometimes I use 1 though)
Cinnamon ( boost your metabolism) - but some people hate it so if you do - don't add it!
Vanilla extract - if you want

Method:
Mash the banana, add the eggs and whisk, heat up a pan, ladle in the mixture, flip 30 seconds later

I have seen you can add protein powder so if you want you can add a scoop - I personally do not take protein powder so I skipped that bit!

There we go!
Please excuse my photography  and presentation skills I'm hoping they will improve ASAP

SKINNY 3 INGREDIENT COOKIES

I  used to be so sceptical when I saw healthy version of cakes/treats because lets face it at the end of the day they are not going to taste like the real thing aka Marks and Spencers white chocolate chip cookies (from the bakery) - my personal fave!

After I work out I always make sure that I eat healthy all dayI try and convince myself to make the most of the 20 minutes I spent slaving away doing cardio. So that means saying a hard 'no' to most things sweet.

BUT I hate the word RESTRICTION and I don't view how I eat as a 'diet' but a lifestyle. I definitely am not going to sit mopping about being on a diet so finding healthier alternatives is a win-win!

These skinny cookies are completely guilt-free so they're perf for when you want that sweet-fix and won't interrupt with all the handwork you've done or if you're just trying to be healthy!

What's more they're so easy to make and only need 3 ingredients.

The secret ingredient here is BANANAS - never realised it but they're actually so versatile and amazing to bake with - so you can stay away from all that granulated sugar once in a while.

There's no refined sugar so I sometimes add milk chocolate chips/honeycomb so that they're a little bit more of a treat. But, as I say if you want to be completely healthy stick to 70% dark chocolate (full of antioxidants and BOOSTS your metabolism! )

All you need is

1 Banana
1 cup of oats
Dark Chocolate/ Raisin/Milk Chocolate (whatever you like really)

Mash the banana - add the oats - stir in the chocolate -bake in the oven for 10/15 minutes at 180 degrees

My friend Pri made these and she can confirm that these are genuinely so easy to make!

Enjoy!

Apparently anyone can blog?

Hey all,

Sometimes I sound like a broken record - I go on about the same thing

Me: (for the past three years): "I think I want to start blogging/vlogging

Most reactions: So do it?

After coming up with excuses which have stopped me from pursuing it I've decided that as a  New Year's resolution I will stop thinking about it and start trying!

I'm not sure where this is heading and can't give a tight ten word summary to sum up this blog but all I can say is that I'm going to write about a mixture off things I love:

1) Healthy eating - I've read so many blogs to inspire myself to eat healthy but all is good until it requires me to spend a ridiculous amount of money (I'd rather spend it on shoes or bags) or wait a few weeks to import ingredients from across the world. Theres such a stigma attached with healthy eating and people are quick to see it as a little bit of a chore.  So, I thought I'd share recipes that have been approved by people like my brothers who lets say are not the most health conscious and are very lucky to have fast metabolism!

2)  Affordable fashion - I've always been a savvy shopper and love to buy on trend items at affordable prices. So, if that requires waiting a little till seasonal reductions then I will! I'd love to inspire people to be more savvy and break the perception that cheaper fashion = worse quality. You can wear the big brands without breaking your bank account - just requires a tiny bit of patience (something which I am getting better at).

Not sure what else but hopefully as I get into the swing of blogging my blog will become a bit more refined!

I'll intro myself now - I'm Maisha and I'm a Londoner who's currently in my final year at university!
